The Gender Justice and Protection Project (GJP) is a key initiative of the UNDP Pakistan, funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and implemented by United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The project has been initiated with aim to contribute to sustainable reduction in violence against women (VAW) in accordance with the government’s policy commitments. The project has established a fund to support promising initiatives from the government and civil society organizations (CSOs) to combat the prevalence of violence, abuse, discrimination and social exclusion against women. GJP is currently funding 30 sub-projects in 42 districts across Pakistan. A wide spectrum of themes and issues relating to VAW are being addressed through GJP’s sub-projects. Some of these sub-projects are being implemented in collaboration with the government departments/agencies which include Police department of three provinces, two district governments and a federal ministry.<<via>>
